A short loop incorporating the park, beach and creek mouth.
SUITABILITY
Suitable for walkers, prams and wheelchairs – and your dog. It’s an easy grade.
HIGHLIGHTS
Just along past the Coolum Hotel this is a pleasant stroll along the beach and/or a lovely laneway through luscious greenery. A big lawn to linger about too. There are outdoor exercise equipment’s at one end, and the pretty stumers creek is but a few moments away at the other end. Several obvious beach tracks before Stumers Creek. Super close yet easy to switch off and enjoy the natural setting.
Walk alongside Norrie Job Park and as the road curves around follow the trail out to the beach and back to Stumers Creek, where dogs can be let off the leash. Remember to test the heat of the sand for your dog’s paws by placing the back of your palm on the sand for 5 seconds. If it’s too hot, come back later.
As you walk you’ll see pandanus and in the bushland coastal banksias and if you are lucky black cockatoos. There have also been rare sightings of white storks in the creek.
AFTERWARDS
While you are doing this walk, why not walk all the way into Coolum – you’re halfway there! – and enjoy a fruit juice, coffee or burger – lots of dining and takeaway options.
