A short but steep 700m walk in the heart of Coolum to scenic views over the town centre and surrounding hinterland.

SUITABLILITY
Suitable only for the fit as the elevation is quite steep and the last 30m requires you to walk on Grandview Drive. Suitable for cyclists.

HIGHLIGHTS
This short walk is for those keen to elevate their heart rate and get a workout whilst being able to enjoy the views.
If you’re spending time in Coolum and want to get away from the coastal pathway, walk to the starting point at Scrub Road directly opposite Point Perry and Wilkinson Park and take the right hand side of the road up the hill towards Grandview Drive. You’ll be off the road but walking on grassy front lawns as there is no paved footpath. Once you hit Grandview Drive then you need to walk the last section, about 50m, along the road to the lookout at the top. Be mindful of traffic in this section. Awaiting you at the top is a picnic table with a spectacular northerly view of the coastline and wide sweeping views of the hinterland to the west. Once you’ve caught your breath, head back down the same path.

AFTERWARDS
You would have earned yourself a cool drink from one of the many cafes or restaurants in Coolum, or perhaps some lunch at the Coolum Surf Club.
The Point Perry boardwalk to Coolum is a must see attraction, or you can head south along the coastal path and continue on to Point Arkwright.

HOW TO GET THERE
To the starting point: Scrub Road runs directly off David Low Way. You can park along David Low Way or in one of the public car parks at Point Perry or on Scrub Road itself. If you’re not keen to walk at all then simply drive straight to the lookout.
To the end point: The end point is the same as the starting point.
