This longer route will take you all the way to tourist favorite Eumundi where you can stop for a coffee or visit the markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Visit one of the coast’s iconic beaches on your way back, Mudjimba is a favourite!
SUITABILITY
Suitable for experienced road cyclists with good skills riding in traffic.. Some road speeds are >60km/hr and have narrow or no shoulders. Includes 700m of climbing.
HIGHLIGHTS
Beginning at Twin Waters, this challenging ride hugs the expansive coastline past Coolum Beach with plenty of places to stop and take in the view or grab a coffee. Head inland to Peregian Springs and enjoy the countryside through Verrierdale to Eumundi. This is a great spot for some lunch, some shopping or just relaxing in the park under a shady tree. Continue through the farmland to North Arm down to Yandina where you can stop at the iconic Ginger Factory for some lunch, or visit one of the Ocean views as you pass through Coolum.. Head back towards Bli Bli then cross the Maroochy River for a flat stretch back to the coast where you can enjoy a well-earned rest and refuel!
AFTERWARDS
Grab some lunch at Mudjimba and have a swim at the quiet beach
HOW TO GET THERE
Park on Ocean Drive near North Shore Road, Twin Waters.
IMPORTANT: On-road cyclists should always ride with caution and be aware that conditions can change at any time. Cyclists using rural roads may encounter heavy vehicles and should be aware that roads can be narrow and undulating with varying shoulder widths. Notify someone of your intended route and be prepared with water, food and sun protection.
