A quite track that leads you up to Mount Tinbeerwah road and beyond to an occasional waterfall and rock pools.
SUITABILITY
This trail is suitable for walkers and mountain bikers – some elevation.
HIGHLIGHTS
It’s actually possible to drive directly to the top of this walk and park right there... but if you are up for an adventure start at the little carpark off McKinnon Drive and enjoy the lush rainforest which soon opens into drier woodland as you ascend almost 200m to join Tinbeerwah Road that leads to the lookout.
At the point where the trail joins Tinbeerwah Road you will find a creek which drops off into a secluded rock pool (a bit of a bush bash to get there.)
AFTERWARDS
You can continue walking all the way to the summit and return or head to Lake Cootharabra for more walks and refreshments – there’s a modern bar and a historic pub to choose from.
HOW TO GET THERE
To the starting point: Head to McKinnon Drive, Tewantin. About 6 km along this road on the way to Boreen Point (heading away from Tewantin) is an unnamed / unsigned pull-over and track off to your left. It's easy to miss but it's Just before Kimbah Court, Cooibah on your right. The track starts here.
To get to McKinnon Drive, take the Cooroy Noosa Road to Tewantin (Noosa end) and follow the signs to Boreen Point. If coming via Tewanin, head along Poinciana Avenue away from Tewantin town and the river till you get to the roundabout with a sign to Boreen Point. At the next roundabout, turn left and you are on McKinnond Dirve.
To the end point:
The end point is the same as the beginning. This is a there and back track or you can connect with one of the other trails going up to Mount Tinbeerwah (like the Waterfall Track) to do a longer loop.
