Suitable for people of all ages and families – pram and wheel chair friendly.
HIGHLIGHTS
This is a wonderful park for families – a great destination in its own right or a great way to break the drive between Brisbane and further north if there is a lot of traffic and you have restless passengers. It is fully fenced with two childproof gates, making it easy for parents to sit back and relax and enjoy a picnic lunch without worrying about kids running off.
One of Queensland’s few all abilities playground there is interpretive signage with tips on sign language and a sensational herb garden for smelling and tasting. The impressive playground has soft-fall rubber padding underfoot, a fun flying fox, lots of swings and activity play spaces, shaded picnic shelters and BBQs and toilets.
Best of all, just 50m along the path is a dog park for your four-legged friend. Shortly after this cross the road and follow the shared cement pathway all the way in to town. Grab a coffee and head back.
AFTERWARDS
In town CJs Pastries is a popular spot as is Bucks Bakery. Another great park not far from here is Skippy Park where there is a criterium circuit for bike riding as well as a wonderful natural swing and slide area built into a hill made of sandstone blocks.
