Paddle up a creek and across a lake not far from downtown Noosaville.

SUITABLILITY
Suitable for beginner kayakers, however make sure you go at high tide as Cooroibah Creek is tidal and can be rocky.

HIGHLIGHTS
A beautiful paddle that can be especially nice if you end up at the café/bar restaurant at Noosa Northshore Retreat Resort. The sand ramp at your destination is only a few hundred meters from Noosa Northshore Retreat resort. There you will find a large modern bistro and bar, as well as rustic seating amidst several massive pines overlooking camp cabins reminiscent of times gone by. There is also a jumping pillow, mini golf, lazertag and even an indoor climbing wall! If you'd rather avoid civilisation, paddle around the lake instead. There is a little island near the northern river entrance. This paddle is best the two hours after high tide, and when it’s NOT windy.

AFTERWARDS
From Noosa Northshore Retreat Resort you can follow (on foot) Beach Road out to the Noosa North Shore Beach and the car free section. It’s wonderful stretch of beach to enjoy. Swimming is not advised here.

Back at your starting point, Noosa Banks is a housing estate, so if you want to do some activities you will need to head out. Nearby bushwalks include Mt Tinbeerwah or you could head to Noosa Botanic Gardens at Lake McDonald near Cooroy. There are shops and cafes at Tewantin or along the river at Gympie Terrace Noosaville.

Kayaks can be hired at Gympie Terrace.

HOW TO GET THERE
To the starting point: Drive to McKinnon Park off McKinnon Drive, Noosa Banks and you will be able to put in at Cooroibah Creek. There is a large wooden pier to access the water.

To the end point: The end point is the same as the starting point as you will need to return unless you drive across to Noosa Northshore Retreat (accessible via car and ferry).
